Hello! This is my forth year teaching at Oakland High school. I am the high school math teacher. This year I am teaching Algebra I, Geometry, Algebra II, Algebra III, and Tech Math.
Originally from Newton, IL, but last summer I moved to Paris, IL. I am a single mom of two wonderful girls. One is in her second year at EIU in the nursing program, and the older one is working and living in Jasper County. For the past 15 years I have volunteered as a Girl Scout leader and recruiter. I taught at Newton Community High School for 6 years as the Credit Recovery Instructor and one year as the Jr High math teacher at Jasper County Jr High in Newton IL. Coming to Oakland was one of the best decisions in my life.
I also serve as the Math team and WYSE team sponsor and Student Council sponsor.
My classroom philosophy is
“THE ONLY WAY TO LEARN MATH, IS TO DO MATH!”
